I just saw a really neat article today that I thought I would share. It is entitled "The Wisdom of the Chaperones: Digg, Wikipedia, and the myth of Web 2.0 democracy." The article is written by Chris Wilson. It discusses how they work, what are the pre-conceived ideas that are out there about Wikipedia and Digg; it is quite interesting!
